001 - video

[Gou comes on screen, and her Plusle's hanging out on her shoulder. Looks like he's catching a nap.]

Hey, what level should these guys be before trying to take on a gym? There's one in Violet, right? We're -- uh, Makoto-senpai and me -- are heading that way, and it seems like it'd be really fun to do!

[She glances over at the Plusle, still napping.]

Oh, and what kind of nickname would you give a Pidgey? She's in her pokeball right now, but I can't seem to think of anything good right now. There's a lotta pressure, I mean, I'm gonna be calling it that every battle from now on...

I mean, I guess they could go without one, but... it seems a little easier to have nicknames, especially if I might end up with doubles or triples of the same type.

Uh, I think that's everything... [The red pikachu (yeah, she's still internally calling it that sometimes) shifts a bit, rubbing the electric pouhcy bit riiight across her shoulder-- meaning, shock time.] Ow! Jeez, watch it, Piccolo! [She binks him in the forehead.] That's for other pokemon, not me--

I've just been giving mine names that people would have. It's easier to remember, and... I think they like it.

Not necessarily... More like just giving them people names rather than pet names. Someone told me when I first got here that they aren't really like pets that just fight for you, but... something a little more. So it feels more right to give them people names!

I've never heard of a video game, so you're going to have to explain it to me.
