Um, does the ground usually shake a lot in caves around here? Because I took a quick peek inside one to try and train my pokemon, but then wham, suddenly stuff falling from the ceiling! I'm back in Violet City now -- seriously would you stay in a cave when there's and earthquake going on -- but gaah, that wasn't cool at all!

Everything. Ghostly possessions, stale air, terrifying castles, the locals acting like mindless automatons... Anything can happen at the end of the month.

Eesh! I mean, I knew those cats with the creepy stares were messed up but I didn't think anything that bad would actually happen!

Imagine two whole weeks without the slightest gust of wind, without the slightest rise or drop in temperature. Imagine feeling some sort of strange pressure in the air every day, and wondering what it means.

Like it's gearing up for a big storm?

Somewhat, only it turned out to be gearing for a few days of unsettling music and square- I mean, pixellated surroundings.

Huh? Like, little tiny squares everywhere pixellated?

Exactly. Even the ice cream I ate that time looked like a square placed on top of another square.

That sounds kind of cool, actually! I wonder what would happen to swimsuits...

They'd look normal as long as one of us was wearing them, but otherwise... I have to admit I did not visit clothing stores at the time.

It must've been pretty hard to find your way around with all of that going on.

Surprisingly, it was not. From Cherrygrove, I found my way to Violet in mere hours. Not all Octobers are quite so helpful.

Would the ghosts give bad directions?

The ghosts would take over your body to climb up trees, or make you believe that the routes are on fire, instead.

Wait, were they pokemon ghosts? Or human ghosts?

Either Pokémon ghosts or both, depending on the species.

Well, I don't really want to climb any trees, so I'll just try to avoid any ghosts for the rest of the month...

That... might be more difficult than it would usually be, considering the likelihood of a swarm.

After all the swarms we had last month?!

The average October swarm makes falling cats seem harmless, believe me. And it would still be a step up from what will happen if no swarming occurs.

The pokemart better sell repels...

As many as you could possibly need, though I'd not be surprised if they raised their prices slightly in a week or two.
